We’ll sit down with college expert, Liz Majors, to talk about what families really need to know as their students prepare for college. From applications and high school course choices to scholarships and choosing a major, we’ll walk through what matters most and what you can be doing now to support your high schooler.

Whether your student is a freshman or already thinking about applications, this is a great chance to ask questions and get practical insight in a casual setting.
Parents can register and include the name and grade of their student(s).
Meet Our Facilitator
Liz Majors is an experienced college counselor with more than two decades of expertise in college admissions and student advising. Her career spans both sides of the admissions process, including roles in university admissions offices and high school counseling, giving her a unique understanding of how colleges evaluate applicants and how students can best navigate the process.
Liz has worked at a wide range of institutions, including Johnson County Community College, the University of San Diego, William Jewell College, Emporia State University, and Pittsburg State University. She has also served as a seasonal application reader for the University of San Diego, providing firsthand insight into admissions decision-making. Most recently, she served as Director of College Counseling at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, where she developed comprehensive programming to support students with a variety of post-secondary goals.
Her students have been admitted to leading universities across the country, including Yale, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, UCLA, Boston College, and Washington University in St. Louis, as well as all five U.S. military academies. Liz also has extensive experience guiding student-athletes through NCAA recruitment and supporting students pursuing ROTC scholarships and military academy nominations.
Known for her calm, thoughtful approach, Liz helps families navigate the college planning process with clarity, balance, and confidence.
