- Homes are currently selling for almost 4% under their listing price.
- Median home prices for July 2012 are up 8.87 percent over July 2011.
- Active home sales for July 2012 included short sales of 28.2% and foreclosure sales of 23.74%. This is a decrease in short sales and foreclosure sales over July 2011.
- The inventory of available homes is down 21.67% compared to July 2011.
People move to Orlando to enjoy the tropical climate, the wealth of outdoor activities, the natural beauty of Florida, and of course to be near Disney World and Orlando’s other world class theme parks and attractions. Tourism attracts millions of visitors each year and is Orlando’s main industry. However, the Greater Orlando Area is also considered a major high-tech center. The University of Central Florida is considered one of the best public universities for computer and engineering studies and is building a new medical school. Home to Lockheed Martin and other high tech companies like Oracle, Electronic Arts, and Siemans, Orlando has the 2nd biggest convention center in the US.

If you are visiting Orlando, make sure you have a few days because it’s impossible to pick just one thing to do. Disney World, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, and Sea World are three world class attractions that can’t be missed. What golf enthusiast would miss a chance to play a round at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Golf Club or one of the other world class courses in the area. What trip would be complete without a trip to Lake Eola park and its iconic fountain – the centerpiece of the city of Orlando.

Winter Park was once considered a winter resort town and now is one of the art and cultural hubs of Central Florida. Home to Rollins College and the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of Natural Art Winter Park is upscale southern living at it’s best. Nestled in and around the pristine Butler Chain of Lakes in Southwest Orlando is the Town of Windermere also known as Windermere Among the Lakes. Palatial estates dot the shoreline of this quiet haven. Just minutes away are numerous golf courses and clubs including Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Golf Club. Winter Garden is located on the shores of Lake Apopka and is known for the country charm of its historic district. Everyone can find an area they can call home in this diverse metropolitan area.
