Santa Fe has both breathtaking contemporary homes and historic adobe homes, within a sky’s the limit budget. In 2013, more than 100 homes sold for over $1 million out of total sales of 1767 homes. Our market is steady and there are still excellent values for buyers here and a sufficient amount of inventory to please buyers in every price range. The 2013 median sale price, averaged over four quarters, was $331,500. One unique feature of homes here is that they are mostly custom built, so realtors like to say, “no two homes the same”. While not entirely true, it does capture an element about Santa Fe as a very unique city – small but full of activity and excitement. The motto, the “City Different located in the Land of Enchantment”, is quite accurate.
People come here from all over the world. Many come for vacation, fall in love with Santa Fe and decide to move here as soon as they can. Some purchase homes and rent them out until they can retire. For most, that means they are in their early fifties and looking toward an active retirement. Some come for the clean air (#2 in the country), the incredible skies and light, the mountains, hiking, the opera, music and art of every genre. Every month of the year there are multiple festivals, including the most important Indian Art Market in the country and the International Folk Art Festival -the largest in the world. It is said, that whether one is a collector, outdoors person, lover of art or just wants to eat good food, Santa Fe is the place to experience it all!
