Miami Beach has been described by Larry Olmstead for USA Today as “the playground you live in.” And this is absolutely true! A barrier island of less than 100,000 residents, the cool thing about Miami Beach is you get the best of both worlds: a local, hometown feel with your friends and neighbors as you stroll down Lincoln Road or bask in the sun and sand on the beach, yet as the focal point of greater Miami’s international tourists there is always something special going on. Like North America’s largest contemporary art show in December, Art Basel. Or, the spectacular boat & yacht show held every February. The list goes on and on. Not to mention the average annual temperature somewhere around 72 degrees Fahrenheit! Topping it all off are countless restaurants, shops, parks and water! Surrounded by the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Biscayne Bay on the west, Miami Beach is truly a special place.
The market in Miami Beach has definitely recovered from the Great Recession. In the last 6 months, we’ve had 2 record sales ($47 million for a single family home and $35 million for a Penthouse on the Ocean). The ultra luxury market continues to grow. Don’t let that discourage you, though, as we still have nice getaway properties starting in the upper $100’s. Something for every lifestyle!
If you’ve ever thought about buying a second home in Miami beach or relocating for your primary residence, we can refer you to great agents like Todd all over the country.
