Final room of the house to get a makeover… went from builders grade to spa retreat.

After a surprise water leak upon returning home from a relaxing vacation, we were forced to update our 1970s kitchen. Due to the unplanned nature of this update, we had to do it on a budget so we DIYed it! We completely gutted, down to the studs, and remodeled our kitchen including all new floors, cabinets, countertops, and black splash tile. It took a few months but we did it all ourselves and absolutely love the finished product!

I decided I wanted to give my kids a play room and converted our unused attic space over the garage. I had to install sub-flooring, insulation, sheetrock, electrical, stairs, and flooring. There were diagonal supports, so I had to build stairs to a small perch I had made. Nothing was hired out!
