May is our transition month. Closing out another school year and kicking off a summer of fun!
May 3: Yappy Hour in Shawnee. Shawnee Town is turning into an Off–Leash Dog Park for the evening! Dog owners and dog lovers join us for a fun happy hour playing in our 1920s downtown square.
May 3-5: Cinco De Mayo Fiesta at Guadalupe Center. Join this free event that has been held since 1922.
May 3-5: The Brookside Art Fair Don’t miss the 38th anniversary of this event. KC’s first outdoor show of the year kicks off in the heart of the beloved Brookside neighborhood.
May 3-4: Harry’s Hay Days Grandview celebrates Harry Truman’s birthday and legacy. Parade, Vendors, and food…. oh my!
May 4: Get ready for the kick off of World’s of Fun Opening Day. Did someone say summer is in the air?
May 5: If racing is more your speed, get your tickets for the Advent Health 400 Nascar Race at the Speedway
May 5: CPKC Stadium Current Watch Party You love KC Current so why not join the watch party with a stadium of fans as they play Houston Dash.
May 9-12: Legally Blonde runs at the Bell Theatre at Mid-America Nazarene University. If you loved Elle on the big screen you’ll flip over the musical production.
May 18: With great reviews from last year, the Kelce Jam is back! Brothers Jason and Travis jam out at their music fest.
May 18: Turkey Creek Festival An annual tradition in Merriam, it’s a full day of kid’s activities, live music, food trucks and a 5K walk/run.
May 19 & 26th: Sar Ko Par Concert Series kicks off their chill outdoor concerts so grab a chair and your leashed fur baby. All are welcome.
May 22: Jammin on the Green in Old Shawnee free concert series. Entrance at 11501 W 57th Street, Shawnee
May 24: Disney 100: The Exhibition Come to Union Station for the opening of this amazing exhibit curated by Disney, experience 100 years of magic like never before!s
May 26: The iconic Celebration at the Station features the KC Symphony as they perform your favorite patriotic songs put in sync with the water, lights, and fireworks at the Union Station. The official kick-off to summer.
May 31 – June 2: Festa Italiana is a long-time KC tradition celebrating Italian culture. Celebrating their 16th year at Zona Rosa. Mamma mia!
