A Cut Above Natural Meats is your premier purveyor of retail All Natural Meats in the Kansas City Metropolitan area for
over 2 1/2 years, have just recently began to ship meat nationwide, and is locally owned and operated in Western Shawnee, KS.
How we define “All Natural” is there has never been any sort of Sub-Therapeutic Antibiotics, Growth Hormones, or Steroids introduced to the meats we sell through injection or their feed. There is nothing in our store that contain SodiumNitrates / Nitrites, MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate),
artificial colorings / preservatives, or High Fructose Corn Syrup.
A Cut Above Natural Meats has the largest selection of merchandised All Natural meats in the metro area. Some of the selections we provide are as follows.
Over 35 varieties of fresh market made sausage, over 35 varieties of grill ready items such as seasoned beef & pork patties kabobs, grillers, high end USDA Choice grade beef, fresh pork, Canadian veal, New Zealand Spring Lamb, fresh Seafood, and exotic meats such as Quail, Rabbit, Ostrich, Elk, and even Kangaroo.
Unlike a lot of businesses that have loss touch of “Customer Service” We WILL take the time to educate our customers on our products and custom cut anything for them. If we have it on hand, we will sell our customers what they want, not what we want to sell them. If you are having trouble obtaining a specialty item, more than likely, we will be able to get that in for you.
I began in the retail meat industry in 1981 when I moved to California following high school. With numerous years of managing high profile meat departments for various companies, with the latest being the first Whole Foods Market that opened in 2002 in Overland Park, KS, I began to think about doing something on our own in 2007.
2 years later, we finally opened our doors on November 30th, 2009. We started out fairly good but then met some extreme challenges that following March of 2010 when the major thoroughfare / intersection was closed off completely to prepare for increased traffic flow due to the pending Wal-Mart and other major national chain retailers and restaurants. I feel what helped us through this difficult period was, what we heard from a lot of customers, they described us as a, “Destination location.” About 15 to 20% of our customer base will drive 20 to 45 minutes to shop our store.
Diane and I both grew up here in the area and chose Western Shawnee to raise a family due to the schools and easy access to all major highways. We now have a son that just began his first year in high school and a daughter in 7th grade. I also have twin boys that are 23 and one of them, Jordan, works at the store with us.
